Miami Jackson Health System Begins Offering COVID-19 Vaccinations By Appt

New year, new chapter in the ongoing coronavirus pandemic... and the latest: it's vaccine time!

First responders and politicians nationally have already had their vaccination, but now the moment has come for us civilians to partake in the race towards herd immunity. This week, Miami Jackson Health Systems has began offering appointment slots for COVID-19 vaccines and the amount of people ready to get theirs is pretty astounding. According to Carlos Suarez of NBC6, over 80,000 people logged onto the JHS portal to secure their slot and new slots will be available soon.

"Jackson launched its online COVID vaccine registration portal this morning for anyone over age 65 and, as expected, the slots filled up quickly in less than two hours. We realize this vaccine is in high demand, and we will continue to open more slots as we receive additional vaccines," Jackson health said in a statement. "As we navigate through this unprecedented, logistically complex vaccine distribution, Jackson's top priority is inoculating as many eligible people in our community as we can."
