About 18 months ago, Smith came out as non-binary using the pronouns, they and them.
Shawn said “it absolutely slipped my mind,” then promised that misgendering Sam Smith “won’t happen again.”
According to People, Sam accepted Shawn’s genuine apology with humility. “We're all learning together. Happy holidays, all my love xx.”
